We are currently looking to recruit a Commissioner on a Permanent basis to join the team covering the UK and Ireland.
How can you make a difference?
As a commissioner your role will be to take a wind turbine generator (WTG) form a mechanical state into an early operational state including all associated tests and verifications of equipment condition for safe turbine operation.
In summary you will turn a post inspected turbine, into a safe power generating and quality operational state.
It should be ready to handover not only to Service but also to our Customers.
To achieve this, you must carry out all your activities with safety being your highest priority and considering the highest standards quality and efficiency.
You will enjoy travel within the UK, Ireland and Europe and working away from home as this role operates on a 4 week rotation, 3 weeks working away from home and 1 week rest at home.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities for this role include: • Ensuring that all commissioning activities and tools comply with general Nordex HSE regulations and specific HSE regulations for construction sites.
Responsiblity for the safety of yourself and all other stakeholders affected by your work.• Responsibility for accurate completion of all commissioning documentation and reporting the commissioning status to site management.• Commissioning the turbine and its associated assemblies.• Reporting quality, status and progress issues to the site management and Lead Commissioner• Rectifying defects during the commissioning process.• Supporting on Technical problems during the Project Management phase• Responsibility for Condition Monitoring Commissioning and testing• Conducting Pre commissioning inspections to ensure turbine readiness• Issue of Q-Notes / non-conformity reports (NCR) during commissioning period• Ordering parts required for repair through site management.• Reporting quality deviations for input into the uniform snag list• Fixing minor quality issues (e.g.
cabling problems) upon identification• Forwarding commissioning report for the converter to the converter manufacture (for warranty reasons)• Capturing data and parameters prior to operational release and send to the Head of Commissioning• Carrying out independent fault analysis and repair minor faults to the equipment, with feedback to the Site Manager What we are looking for?
The successful candidate will have substantial experience as an Electrician or Service Technician with previous experience as a Commissioner and be qualified to HND/HNC level or above.
You will also have completed Commissioning training.You will have Strong Technical Knowledge of Nordex Turbines and be experienced in electrical/mechanical installation, voltage testing and quality management.
Experience in programmable control systems and writing technical reports is also essential to this role.
You will also be experience in torqueing, bolt stretching and lifting equipmentOther attributes required for the role include: • Full Clean Driving Licence • Computer literate, able to use MS Office, Excel Word, Project, Power point• Physically and mentally fit – able to work at heights• Excellent fault finding and problem solving skills • Willing to travel on regular basis, including weeks away from home.
