Day Centre Co-Ordinator (Part Time) - 3 or 4 days per week - 8.30am to 3pm daily.
Our client - a well established charitable organisation - is seeking a capable Day Centre Co-Ordinator to manage and oversee the operations of their Day Centre, ensuring the provision of high-quality holistic services to the needs of older adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Service and Program Development:
* Plan and implement engaging activities in education, entertainment, physical health, and mental well-being, aligning with identified needs in the older adult community.
* Integrate health-focused and lifelong learning initiatives, ensuring they address gaps in existing services such as nutrition, mental health, and holistic health awareness.
* Collaborate with stakeholders and local organizations, to develop evidence-based programs that tackle loneliness, isolation, and loss of independence.
Operations and Resource Management:
* Optimize existing resources
* Coordinate with relevant personnel to ensure program implementation does not interfere with ongoing day-to-day operations of the Day Centre.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
* Act as the primary liaison with families, community groups, and healthcare professionals, promoting the centre and increasing participation.
* Build partnerships with educational and healthcare institutions to enhance service offerings.
Staff and Volunteer Oversight:
* Lead recruitment, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers to meet service goals effectively.
* Foster a team environment that values innovation and empathy.
Key Objectives:
* Increase daily attendance
* Introduce age-appropriate activities addressing mental health, education, and physical activity, continuously reviewing their effectiveness.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven leadership and organizational skills, with experience in managing health, community, or care services.
* A passion for supporting older adults, with the ability to empathize and connect with service users.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in community outreach.
* An understanding of health and safety, as well as safeguarding regulations.
* The ability to work collaboratively with academic and community stakeholders to pilot and evaluate innovative service models.
