Our client is a leading offshore shipowner currently establishing its European Headquarters in Ireland. They are seeking to fill several positions including the recruitment of a technical superintendent with experience providing technical management for offshore vessels, primarily PSVs and FIBs.
Spoken Spanish language skills would be a distinct advantage for applicants.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Prepare and deliver technical plans to the Head of Technical/Operations
* Liaise with the charterer’s technical management and develop and oversee technical management plan.
* Assess and report the technical conditions and operational expenses for the assigned group of vessels in the fleet.
* Ongoing monitoring of technical expenditure including the opportunity to incorporate new systems and technologies to ensure the ongoing efficiency of the fleet.
* Report on technical-related unplanned off-hires, class inspections, etc.
* Ensure compliance of existing and new regulations concerning technical matters and report on regulations potentially impacting fleet technical operations.
* Maintain communication with the charterers on day-to-day matters in respect of operations as they relate to technical matters.
* Manage, schedule and supervise planned and unplanned repairs, inspections and dry dockings.
* Responsible for the class status of the vessel and for arranging surveys.
Qualifications:
* Spanish language skills would be a distinct advantage for this position.
* Experience with Dynamic Positioning.
* Previous experience in technical management is essential.
* Sound knowledge of the Offshore/Oil & Gas sectors.
* Experience as Chief Engineer/First Engineer and/or in ship repair/ship management.
* In addition, you have strong planning and organizational skills, are willing to travel frequently and can work under pressure.
* Good verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English are essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills & commercial acumen.
* Strong technical understanding of vessels.
* Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
* Reliable, confident & able to work within a multicultural business environment.
* Experience with AHTS, PSVs, etc. preferred.
* Candidates must possess the immediate right to live and work in the European Economic Area (EEA).
