Job Description
1. Responsible for managing software development projects inclusive of new services introduction, new product / releases introduction and on-boarding new customers.
2. Presents project status to all levels of the organisation (VP level and above).
3. Develops project charters and statements of work (SOW) and obtains project sponsor/stakeholder buy-in for project initiation.
4. Defines and develops detailed project plans based on the given requirements and scopes.
5. Demonstrates best practices for developing schedules and understands the critical path.
6. Monitor project execution to ensure all obligations are met and drive projects to completion.
7. Collaborate with global stakeholders (internal and external) to resolve conflicts and drive successful delivery of projects.
8. Manages expectations of project sponsor and stakeholder with timely communication/escalation of risks/issues, their impact, and mitigation/corrective actions.
9. Recommends corrective actions and implements changes.
10. Identifies and mitigates project risks. Owns resolution to any dependency or issue not being delivered by the appropriate party.
11. Ensure all project documentations are completed and kept in the appropriate storage.
12. Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
13. Familiar with the Phase Gate methods as part of the software development life cycle.
14. Familiar with waterfall and agile development methodologies and their associated quality assurance methods.
15. Proven experience in project management and software development.
Basic Requirements
16. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar is preferred.
17. Minimum 7 to 10 years Project Management experience, preferably with experience in Software Development, Telecommunications, Radio Communications, or Aerospace/Defense preferred.
18. Demonstrated competency with a project management tool (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet)
19. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.
20. Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.
21. Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
22. Highly organised, structured, and process oriented; team building skills a plus.
23. Able to simplify a complex situation and provide updates accordingly.
24. Certified PMP preferred.
