Health and Safety Lead – Oradeo Recruitment are looking for a Health and Safety Lead to join one of Ireland’s top 10 main contractors in either Dublin/Kilkenny or Limerick. As a Health and Safety Lead, you will be responsible for health and safety on projects across various sectors within Ireland: commercial, residential, hospitality, education, industrial, etc. Manage a team of Health and Safety Officers within a certified environment; ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 and lead by example in driving the company’s exemplary health and safety standards.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Develop, monitor, implement and audit Health and Safety procedures and policies across the business.
* Update and maintain Health and Safety procedures and the Organisation’s Safety Statement in compliance with Regulatory requirements.
* Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
* Keep records of incidents and accidents and produce statistics for senior management.
* Stay up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Authority (HSA) legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
* Provide Training; Induction, Refresher and Manual Handling Training as required.
* Represent the Company during outside Agency Audits/Inspections and liaise as required with the Health & Safety Authority.
* Co-ordinate the Health and Safety committee for all sites and ensure regular monthly meetings.
* Improve the health and safety culture through training and awareness campaigns.
* Any ad-hoc duties that may arise.
Necessary skills and requirements:
* Third Level education in Health and Safety or related discipline is required.
* A minimum of 3 years Health and Safety experience.
* Qualification in manual handling instruction would be an advantage.
* Experience in leading and carrying out Risk Assessment.
* Previous knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 systems.
* Ability to deliver training modules to all levels of the Organisation to include, first aid, manual handling and fire warden training.
