Job Title:
Assistant Night Manager Purpose of job: To meet the requirements of customers and residents and to service and clean the public areas of the hotel.

Roles & Responsibilities:
To maintain a pleasant personality and clean appearance at all times.
To always wear correct, clean and pressed uniform when on duty.
Take a comprehensive Passover from the reception staff on duty.
Take a comprehensive Passover from the Duty Manager.
Do a security check in the hotel and floor walk, Ensure that this is done throughout the night.
Prepare the Night Bar for service, provide Beverage Service throughout the night to all residents requesting late drinks and ensure that this area is cleaned and tidy before the end of the shift.
Prepare the Room Service department for the night menu.
Provide Room Service throughout the evening.
Maintain and clean this department, prepare for early breakfasts and assist with any early breakfasts prior to your departure.
Provide assistance with luggage to all guests who require this service.
Check the meeting rooms scheduled are in order for any meetings scheduled for the next day.
To ensure that any accidents occurred during the evening are reported in the accident record book and notified to the Duty Manager the following morning.
Perform all reception tasks including check in, check out, night audit procedures and deal with any requests.
Reception must always be attended.
To ensure hotel grounds and surrounding neighbourhood is litter free.
Report any damage to hotel or local property.
Ensure that the front car park and porch are swept.
Check toilets are clean and polished (every 20 minutes) cleaning supplies.
Assist in the lounge service and ensure the tidiness of the lobby at all times.
Ensure all light bulbs are in working order.
Assist guests with baggage handling.
Assist with room service trays.
Assist accommodation Manager or other head of departments with any requests.
Passover any outstanding tasks to Manager on Duty at the end of the shift.
Give a comprehensive handover to the early reception shift and to the Duty Manager To be aware of the business in the system.
To recognise VIP and regular guests and ensure all the night team are also familiar with them.
This applies to both in house guests and new arrivals.
To be familiar with out side factors that may affect the hotels business.
To monitor the progression of staff, recognise training needs and ensure full training is given both in house and off site.
To be responsible for the discipline of staff in the line with hotel procedures.
To liase with all other departments heads and so help in the smooth running of the operation.
