Job Description
The Oracle Database Developer Specialist will assist in the analysis, troubleshooting, technical debt identification, risk assessment, remediation planning, development and support of the project's legacy Oracle estate, which underpin the customer's corporate functions.
The successful applicant will contribute to overall success by working as part of a team of IT professionals, undertaking senior database development duties and driving project delivery and solution optimisation.
* Support the delivery on project targets and operational KPIs
* Review and support creation of data strategy and data integration strategy
* Provide detailed legacy system analysis, including low level assessment of data integration mechanisms and methodologies, including Publish/Subscribe models based on Change Data Capture, Advanced Queues and Streams.
* Provide both strategic and tactical solution assessment, inline with overarching strategy and Business outcomes.
* Create end to end data flow mappings
* Develop, support and optimise database solutions to remediate technical debt and improve stability of legacy systems
* Support the creation of Target Operating Model, development of internal procedures, processes and documentation
* Support provision of test strategy and planning to ensure data integrity
* Assist with data and database security in accordance with industry best practice
* Identify, prioritise and resolve data/database incidents and problems through formal incident and problem management processes
* Promote high standards of database design, operation, availability and support.
* Provide effective stakeholder management of both internal and external stakeholders including strategic vendors and service providers
* Proficiency in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning
Qualifications
* Experienced in developing oracle database integrations and change data capture
* Significant technical knowledge of several of the following technical components:
o Oracle PL/SQL
o Oracle CDC
o Oracle Advanced Queues
o Oracle Streams and Log writer
o Data encryption
* Effective communicator, both in verbal and written communications
* Successful track record in delivering IT projects, with strong analytical and problem solving capability

Location: This role can be delivered in a hybrid nature from one of these offices Dublin, Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh or London.
