Kilkea Castle are currently recruiting for an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our expanding team. Position: Housekeeping Supervisor Responsible To: Housekeeping Manager Under the direction of and in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager: General Description of Role: To provide clean and well-maintained bedrooms, bathrooms, Corridors, public areas and back of house areas for all guests in conjunction with the Management and direction of the department staff to agreed standards of the hotel and Failte Ireland. Presenting a clean and fresh environment to approved standard for the guests. To ensure optimum profitability and to maintain the wages within budget. Key Responsibilities: Day to Day management and inspection of the housekeeping department Allocate workloads to Housekeeping Assistants and House Porters. Ensure that all staff have a full knowledge of events, functions or groups arriving in the hotel. Always maintain (SOPs) procedures and duties in the area. Ensure and maintain a good working relationship between the Housekeeping Department and all other departments. To order linen for the housekeeping department. To order cleaning chemicals and to instruct staff on the safe and correct use of same. Ensure stock levels in accommodation are always adhered to in relation to linen, cleaning chemicals, guest supplies etc. Always ensure correct staff level in housekeeping. Respect and always maintain equipment and furniture in the Housekeeping department. To ensure the housekeeping department is left how you would like to find it, clean and fully stocked. To provide spotlessly clean bedrooms for all guests. To ensure all corridors, pantries are clean and well maintained on each floor. To log all lost property when reported. To ensure that any special requests are adhered to in the guest bedroom. To ensure that guests are well always looked after before, during and after their stay. To always show respect for other team members. To ensure all housekeeping trolleys are adequately stocked and cleaned. To ensure weekly, monthly, and yearly deep cleans are carried out and recorded. To ensure all bathrooms are hygienically cleaned. To ensure all electrical items are in working order. To ensure a high level of security at all times about master keys and guest bedrooms. To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health & safety of yourself, other employees, guests, and other persons on the premises. To be responsible for stocks and control of wastage, in accordance with company standards To achieve the budget as set out on a weekly period, ensuring the profitability of the departments is built on. To prepare weekly wage sheet for Accounts Department To have a complete understanding of the hotels employee handbook and to comply with the regulations contained within To wear full uniform and name badge when on duty. To log any maintenance required in the system. To report any suspicious behaviour of guests to a member of the management team. To control the amount of equipment, cleaning materials and guests supplies. To be on-time for all shifts Report any problems to management that you are unable to deal with To ensure the hotels resources are not wasted, misused, or damaged. Always implement the Hotels Customer Care Policy.
