Position Description ESB Networks is seeking enthusiastic and driven engineers to join our growing team of Power Systems Engineers across Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Key Responsibilities Power System Analysis: Conducting detailed analysis of the distribution network to ensure reliability and efficiency; using advanced load flow software (e.g. Synergi, PSS Sincal, etc.) to assess the impact of embedded generation, RES, flexibility, demand customer connections & reinforcement options on the distribution system Connection applications: Processing connection applications in line with CRU-approved policies and Company Standards; promptly addressing customer queries on proposed connection methods. Project Management: Leading innovation-led distribution planning improvement projects from initial scoping through to implementation. Documentation preparation: Producing necessary supporting business case documentation for CAPEX proposals, including Study Documents, Investment Appraisals, and Technical Approvals. Stakeholder relationships: Manage relationships with customers, developers, national planning authorities, local authorities and action groups, EirGrid & CRU. Experience and Qualifications Essential Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 2 to 5 years' work experience in engineering area. Strong technical capability with proven track record of delivery to a high standard. Excellent communication and report writing skills. Strong analytical decision-making skills with an innovative approach to problem solving. Full clean driving license. Desirable Prior work experience in any of the below fields, while not essential, will be an advantage: System Planning and Grid Connection Studies Transmission and Distribution System Master Plans Power Quality Measurements and Studies Development of Policies and Standards for Electricity Distribution System Planning Proficiency in using power system analysis software (e.g. Synergi, PSS Sincal, etc.). Location Location will be ESB Networks' office in Leopardstown Road (Dublin), Wilton (Cork), or Rosbrien (Limerick), with a modest amount of travel.
