Data Center Operation Manager
A key member of the AWS Infrastructure Services team, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This involves collaborating with diverse teams to ensure safe, secure, and efficient cloud services for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hire, develop, and manage a team of Data Center Technicians, focusing on performance management.
* Lead the team in maintaining and troubleshooting systems, hardware, and network devices.
* Effectively manage data center operations, including ticket queue management, on-call shift arrangements, and hardware logistics.
* Inspire process improvements, technology innovation, and automation within the team.
* Monitor operational KPIs and metrics to ensure alignment with expectations.
* Manage outages by severity level and act as the call leader.
* Ensure high-quality customer experience through continuous service improvement.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* 5+ years of people management experience within an IT environment.
* In-depth knowledge of change, problem, and incident management.
* Fluent verbal and written communication in English.
* Understanding of financial budgeting concepts, including Capex and Opex.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Cumulative experience in Data Center Operations or similar roles in mission-critical environments.
* Experience in information technology infrastructure domains, including compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, cabling, and IT service delivery principles and best practices.
* Knowledge of Safety and Security measures.
* ITIL Foundation, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Risk related certifications.
* Linux certification and/or administration experience (RHCSA/RHCE, LPIC, Linux+).
$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Estimated salary range based on national averages in the United States.
