Trilateral Research is recruiting for a Senior Research Analyst to join our Innovation & Research Team. You will deliver Trilateral's research commitments for the REAL-DEAL and ESPF-digit research projects, develop thought leadership, create impact, and advance business development for the Climate, Energy and Environment cluster.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Project Delivery
* Lead and execute work in the EU-funded REAL-DEAL project that is developing innovative tools and formats for deliberative processes around the European Green Deal. This includes:
o Testing and validating innovative formats and tools for citizens’ deliberation.
o Developing a protocol for designing a pan-European citizens’ participation and deliberation campaign for the European Green Deal.
o Managing ethics and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance aspects in deliberative processes.
* Lead and execute work in the EU-funded E-SPFdigit project which focuses on how digital technologies, such as light-based technologies, remote sensing, robotics, and AI-driven applications can be used in agriculture for soil management. This includes:
o Defining the project’s innovation strategy and IPR.
o Developing the project’s Data Management Plan.
o Establishing the project’s ethics requirements and Gender Equality Plan.
* Deliver project work including research, reports, and other outputs in the REAL DEAL and E-SPFdigit projects in direct communication with the external project coordinator, team members, manager, and/or clients, resolving and escalating any issues.
* Manage the project ethics advisory board.
* Represent Trilateral at project meetings and external events.
Business Development
* Independently lead and/or contribute to funding applications, grow, and share knowledge of funding schemes and application processes.
Other responsibilities include strategy delivery, research impact, and team development.
What skills and experience you will bring to the role:
Required education and experience
* Post-doctoral experience in legal analysis and/or a PhD; alternatively, a Master's Degree in the Social Sciences and Humanities with 3+ years of research experience.
* Experience in coordinating or leading work in one or more research projects.
* Proven track record building relationships with internal and external clients.
* Experience conducting peer reviews.
* Experience in law (focus on data protection and/or human rights) or environmental law.
* Experience coordinating or leading tasks within EU-funded projects.
* Experience in carrying out systematic literature reviews.
* Leadership skills or people management experience.
Professional knowledge and technical skills
* Strong knowledge of EU data protection law & practice including GDPR.
* Good understanding of environmental law, agriculture, soil and water, and climate change.
* Knowledge of research ethics and human rights.
* Experience in developing research proposals, funding relationships and/or tenders.
* Experience managing and/or working in multi-partner projects and working as part of inter-disciplinary teams.
* Proven experience in client management.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Good understanding of environmental justice, just transition, citizen deliberation, and participation.
Interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Strong and established verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate across and outside the organisation.
