A key focus will also be on how we can work with other agencies to deliver impact for the sector.The Enterprise Development team supports capability building across the tourism sector. Capability building goes well beyond traditional training of employees: it’s about fundamentally changing how the work gets done. Delivery of effective capability building initiatives will enable tourism businesses to develop the mindsets and behaviours to deliver transformational gains. The team will anticipate future business capability needs to ensure the tourism sector is better positioned to remain profitable, competitive and resilient.The inclusion team is focused on supporting tourism businesses to make their businesses accessible to all, through driving awareness of the business opportunity and building capability with the businesses’ teams to understand how to make their visitor experiences more accessible and inclusive through a range of capability building supports.Job PurposeThis role sits within the Sector Development Directorate in Fáilte Ireland and plays a central role in Fáilte Ireland’s support of the tourism sector. This is a strategic and results focused role, requiring a professional with an understanding of developing and delivering strategic capability supports, i.e. developing knowledge, skills and experience in the employee supporting the business to remain profitable, competitive and resilient. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strategic thinking, with excellent influencing and communication skills as well as an ability to measure, influence and communicate impact.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent relationship management skills and a demonstrable ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders. In addition excellent project management experience with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external suppliers. This role focuses on developing and delivering strategic capability building support initiatives to tourism businesses supporting them to become viable sustainable businesses delivering in the medium to long-term. In addition they will lead the inclusion team supporting this new team to establish its role and to positively impact the development of inclusive experiences.Central to this role will be collaborating and innovating with other agencies such as Skillnet, LEO, SEAI and government departments ensuring a coordinated approach to capability building in the tourism sector and avoiding duplication and wasted resource both human and budget. As a member of the Fáilte Ireland Leadership Team, the Head of Division is required to emulate the corporate values and contribute to wider organisational development.This role requires travel, with attendance at a number of national and regional locations / sites on an annual basis.Person SpecificationEssential CriteriaThe successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ successful experience in a related management role with strategy formulation and/or execution that includes senior stakeholder management, influencing and engaging, programme/project management, and team management.We are looking for an individual who has highly developed interpersonal skills and has demonstrated an ability to build strong external and internal strategic partnerships. Experience of initiating key strategic projects that delivered positive impact is also required.
