The role of the Food Sector-Programme Manager involves accelerating business growth and success through intensive expertise, mentorship, and support to scale businesses for investment readiness within a short timeframe.
Key responsibilities include delivering stage-appropriate training, mentoring, and investment access to accelerate business growth; planning and implementing structured, intensive programmes; and focusing on enhancing strategic capability, market readiness, and investment attractiveness of regional food sector enterprises.
The role also entails building an interconnected food community (regional, national, and international) to foster collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development within the food sector; managing media dissemination of programme activities and stakeholders' events; and ensuring KPI targets are delivered on time in line with projected budget allocations.
A successful candidate will have a degree/diploma in a relevant discipline, minimum 5 years' experience in the food industry, strong communication and presentation skills, competency in Microsoft Office, and organisational and multi-tasking skills. Additional desirable skills include food sector experience, dealing with a broad range of customers/stakeholders, and behaviour competencies such as inter-personal and networking skills, passion for entrepreneurial communities, and ability to work as part of a team.
This role is based at Teagasc, Mellows Campus, Athenry, Co. Galway, and the BIA Innovator Campus buildings, subject to a probationary period for 6 months with reviews at months 3 and 6. The appointee must hold a full driving licence, drive a motorcar in the course of their duties, and provide and maintain a car to the satisfaction of the BIA Innovator Campus CLG.
