We are seeking an experienced Direct Materials Buyer to join our team in North County Dublin.
About the Role
This is a challenging opportunity for a proven procurement professional with a minimum of 4 years' experience in the Procurement function.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to assess and manage business agreements with suppliers.
Responsibilities
* Purchase direct materials to support production operations and spare parts service in line with business requirements.
* Maximise the use of supplier scheduling and lean supply models to minimise inventory levels.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure continuity of material supply and avoid production interruption.
* Provide timely updates to internal stakeholders on issues affecting supply and recovery plans.
* Use structured problem-solving techniques to address root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Monitor key metrics on supplier delivery, inventory, cost, quality, and service performance.
* Drive supplier corrective actions where performance falls below target levels.
* Maintain and update supplier and material master data to ensure planning and purchasing process integrity.
* Contribute to site cross-functional processes for evaluating and selecting new suppliers.
* Design and implement cost reduction ideas, including part transfer projects.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
* Minimum 4+ years' experience in direct materials, preferably in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
* Experience dealing with international direct material suppliers across Asia, Europe, and the USA is desirable.
