Overview:We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support Archer’s sales organization. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience negotiating SaaS technology B2B transactions with a strong background in privacy and data protection. The role will work cross functionally with various business units, including sales, finance, sales operations, security, product, and engineering teams. This role will also support the business on general legal matters, such as Product, HR Support, and being proactive in advice to the business on upcoming changes in laws and regulations.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage complex business to business commercial contract negotiations for the sale of software and SaaS products and services.Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, both direct to end user and channel agreements, including software licenses, SaaS, and professional service engagements.Deal with ad-hoc commercial legal issues that arise, providing sound legal judgement and advice.Collaborate with sales, operations, finance, legal, tax, and services to ensure that agreements adequately protect the company’s interests.Assist with other legal related projects including the development, review, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and playbooks for the legal department.Identify, analyze, and develop strategies for mitigating legal risks.Advise key business stakeholders with respect to legal issues.Provide privacy advice to the business in the context of commercial transactions.Requirements:Formal legal qualification (UK and/or Ireland qualified lawyer).5-7 years’ relevant experience in a corporate legal environment or law firm.Experienced commercial contracts counsel with expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.Strong ability to perform research, synthesize and articulate findings.Requires detailed knowledge of commercial contracts terms.Should be a critical thinker and a self-starter who is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Ability to interact effectively with senior management and has a successful track record as both an advisor and business leader.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex legal issues into easily understood concepts.Outstanding organizational abilities.Strong analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-energy environment.Commitment to excellence and integrity.Privacy Expertise is a must!Desirable Requirements:Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity simultaneously and translate complex business and legal issues into clear and simple guidance for a variety of clients and stakeholders.High comfort level with a wide range of legal issues and subject matters.Able to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a challenging environment.Excellent analytic and communication skills, with ability to act on best information available, not wait for absolute certainty and effectively navigate ambiguity.Able to effectively deal with high-volume, rapid cycles, multiple assignments, concurrent deadlines, and changing priorities.Actively contribute to the Legal Department’s mission of being a sophisticated user and champion of Archer’s products and services.Experience in negotiating software, SaaS, PaaS and/or related services contracts.Working knowledge and understanding of privacy and data protection laws as they relate to technology contracts.Archer is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
