Senior Psychologist - Irish Prison Service
We are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join our team at the Irish Prison Service in Dublin. This will be a locum position, working across two sites: Mountjoy Prison High Support Unit and Cloverhill prison.
About the Role
As a Senior Psychologist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and formulating treatment plans for individuals referred to our psychology service. You will also take a lead role in developing behaviour monitoring procedures and contributing to multi-disciplinary care and management planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate treatment plans for individuals referred to our psychology service
* Develop behaviour monitoring procedures for each individual
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary care and management planning
* Engage in and supervise evidence-based psychological interventions
* Assess and intervene with individuals presenting with mental health difficulties, offence-specific needs, and other complex presentations
Working Environment
You will work across two prisons, interacting with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies involved in the support and resettlement of individuals leaving custody. Regular contact with community agencies and families/carers is an essential part of this role.
Requirements
* Eligible for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS)
* Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by PSI
* A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience as a Psychologist
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience addressing emotional, mental health, and offence-related difficulties with a forensic population and group setting
* Experience providing consultation, education, guidance, and support to multidisciplinary colleagues
* Further therapeutic or research qualifications
