Merchandising Manager Strategic Categories, Europe Packaged Beverage & Age Restricted Type of Employment: Permanent Location: Dublin, Ireland Visa requirements: A valid work permit from the EU/EEA (relocation assistance is not provided) THE ROLE Depatment: European Merchandising Reprorts to:Director Strategic Categories The Merchandising team play a crucial role in achieving the company's objectives by maximizing shop sales, profitability and partnerships. This position will develop strategic plans, foster manufacturer and vendor partnerships, collaborate with Business Units, and establish objectives to accelerate Packaged Beverage and Age Restricted categories. Working in close collaboration with Global Procurement, this position will also be the central coordinator of pan-European vendor negotiations, leading communications with Business Unit Category Management teams, ensuring execution of the merchandising strategy, and reporting on key updates as negotiations progress. While the primary responsibilities for this role are age restricted and packaged beverage products the merchandising team work as 'One Team' and the chosen applicant will be required to work on various projects across total merchandise from time to time. This role will require the successful candidate to provide ongoing financial updates, lead key strategic projects, execute merchandising/marketing plans, and work cross functionally with internal teams and key suppliers. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential as the candidate will need to provide ongoing project updates to Executive level management and all Business units regarding these categories. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead and execute any current projects in scope for current financial year. Ensuring all capital is spent and tracked in a timely manner and ROI is achieved. Lead category development of assigned categories and work with Business Units to incorporate best practice ideas. Provide strategic and tactical guidance around global trends, internal and external best practices, and company performance objectives. Provide updates to the business on key projects, year-end results, business plans for new financial year etc. Lead the central coordination of pan-European vendor negotiations with all Business Units, working in close collaboration with Global Procurement. Provide guidance to Business Units and Global Procurement around sales/new Items and contract opportunities. Work cross-functionally with teams (private brand, data & analytics, procurement marketing etc.) to diagnose, quantify and address local and/or European sales opportunities, emerging products and categories, and alternative revenue sources. Support team members on any Merchandise projects as needed to achieve overall team goals. Effectively communicate with Business unit VP, Directors and Category managers as needed. Lead and develop annual Category Summits for Europe with content and presentation. Continually increase professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; or participating in professional societies. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing Financial and key Result area targets and development of required presentations. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred. Strong project management skills, including adhering to timelines and meeting management skills. Strong communication and presentation skills. Works easily in multi-business unit project settings; able to facilitate teamwork across corporate boundaries. Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of data. Embraces fact-based decision making; ability to leverage and/or integrate global best strategies across all category projects. Minimum of five years of experience in category management, convenience store merchandising, operations, or related fields. Ability to travel - 25% INTERESTED?
