Summary of the Business:
The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, the National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.
Role Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for talented and motivated graduates to join the Agency Secretariat division of the NTMA on a 24-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2025. The programme is open to graduates with a degree in Law, Business Studies, Governance, English or a related discipline.
The successful candidate will support the Agency Secretariat team in providing secretariat services to the NTMA Board and its sub-committees (Audit and Risk Committee, State Claims Agency Advisory Committee, Investment Committee, Future Ireland Funds Investment Committee and the Remuneration Committee) and to a broad range of management committees (including the Executive Management Team, Future Ireland Funds Oversight Committee, (NDFA) Management Infrastructure Committee, ICT Steering Committee and ISIF Nominations Committee).
This role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to develop experience, skills and knowledge in Corporate Governance, at the heart of the organisation, working in support of the wide spectrum of the NTMA’s activities and decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support with the scheduling and co-ordination of Agency and Committee meetings including assisting with the preparation of work programmes, meeting papers and agendas and drafting of minutes.
2. Assisting with the drafting and review of Agency and Committee papers.
3. Provision of support to the Agency Secretariat team in the maintenance of the Agency and Committee Governance File and Key Decision Logs/Action Trackers.
4. Assisting with the organisation of training and development and induction support to Agency and Committee members.
5. Provision of support in the completion of the Board/Committee annual effectiveness reviews.
6. Maintenance of governance related sections of the corporate website.
Learning and Development:
Associates typically also complete additional training and studies such as ICSA Chartered Governance exams or the Masters in Management and Corporate Governance (PT) and will be offered the full range of NTMA supports in this regard combined with a detailed associate training programme and associate network across the NTMA in addition to on-the-job training.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of a 2.1 honors degree or a minimum of a 2.1 Masters, ideally in a related discipline.

Pension Abatement:
