Mechanical Design Engineer Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our MEP team. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work on high-profile projects across various sectors, including life sciences, industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, residential, and more.
Location
This role is based in our Dublin head office and involves travel to various projects across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and specification of mechanical engineering solutions for buildings, adhering to current regulations and design standards.
* Collaborate with the MEP team and project design team to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
* Participate in pre-construction engineering activities, including coordination of services and production of information (tender drawings, specifications, and equipment details).
* Monitor and manage projects during construction, including site inspections, technical submittals, and RFIs.
* Assist M&E staff in all work related to the safe and timely completion of projects.
* Work with the team to inspect all installation works against the agreed level of the approved quality plan.
* Attend project meetings.
Required Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
* Experience in designing and specifying mechanical/building services systems.
* Strong technical ability and good understanding of current engineering standards.
* Previous Main Contractor experience is preferred, ideally with project experience.
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent IT skills – knowledge of Revit/BIM, Microsoft.
