Profile:
* Proven progressive management experience, including multi-site experience within the catering, hospitality, or quick-service food industry (minimum of 3 to 5 years experience).
* Candidates must have prior experience in the required position within Ireland, as a strong knowledge of Irish law is essential.
* Ability to lead, manage, and develop others toward self-sufficiency.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Strong business acumen, ideally supported by experience and/or a business degree.
* Ability to communicate restaurant goals clearly, providing a motivating vision for the team while linking individual performance to achieving restaurant goals.
* Regularly coach management teams to drive results, setting a role model standard for professionalism.
* A valid full driving license is essential.
Job Purpose:
The Area Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager/Managing Director, provides overall leadership and supervision to both company-operated and franchised restaurants within their designated area. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the restaurants meet or exceed their unit targets, maintaining high standards of operations as outlined in the Operations Manual.
The Area Manager will also motivate, support, and inspire the management teams and staff, driving them to achieve and exceed sales targets. This role is suited for a highly motivated, hardworking individual with excellent communication and management skills.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
* Oversee the smooth operation of assigned restaurants, ensuring they meet set targets and budgets for both company-operated and franchised units.
* Spend sufficient time in each store—day and night, mid-week and weekends—to understand the business challenges and opportunities, and adjust plans accordingly.
* Provide TLC (Training, Leadership, and Counselling) to Restaurant Managers/Franchisees, enabling them to reach their full potential and achieve both business and personal goals.
* Lead Restaurant Managers/Franchisees towards self-sufficiency, focusing on sales and profit growth while fostering long-term team success.
* Assist in business development by helping Restaurant Managers/Franchisees build relationships within local communities and develop Local Store Marketing (LSM) plans.
* Create actionable plans for each store, communicating where the store stands, and where it’s headed, and setting constant measurements and follow-ups for sales, costs, and people management.
* Respond to requests from Head Office Personnel, Operations Manager, and Managing Director.
* Take the lead in planning for people development, recruitment, training, and succession planning for future expansion within the area.
* Handle employee relations and customer complaints that could significantly impact the business, taking necessary actions to minimize these effects.
* Ensure adequate support during manager absences by making arrangements as needed.
* Liaise with all relevant head office departments.
* Take full responsibility for each restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
* Ensure banking and security arrangements are well maintained and conduct regular spot checks.
* Develop and implement systems in each store to ensure consistent management practices and operational standards.
* Plan store visits with clear objectives, follow up on previous issues, and make improvements to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
