We’re assisting an award-winning Main Contractor in their search for a Senior EHS Advisor in Meath. The successful candidate will be based on-site in Meath, with further site visits required in the Greater Dublin area.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Irish regulations and industry standards.
* Provide expert guidance and leadership on health and safety matters to project teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and areas for improvement, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
* Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
* Collaborate with project managers to integrate health and safety requirements into project planning, execution, and scheduling.
* Prepare and present health and safety reports to senior management, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, trends, and initiatives.
* Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety inquiries, providing timely and effective guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
* Mentor and coach junior health and safety personnel, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely) is essential.
* Significant experience in a senior health and safety role within the construction industry, preferably with main contractors in Ireland.
* Thorough understanding of Irish health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Proven leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence and engage others in health and safety initiatives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
* Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and health and safety management software.
* Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
