Maintenance Electrician North Dublin
Cpl are supporting our client partner who a heritage brand in the Food and Beverage industry.
The company are based in Northern Cross Co. Dublin and due to continued business growth, they have an immediate job vacancy for a Trade Qualified Electrical Technician.
Please note that to be considered, you must have a valid electrical trade certification or other NFQ Level 6 or equivalent Electrical qualification.
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is part of a team of high performing craft and maintenance professionals.
The plant currently runs on a 2-cycle shift pattern.
Shifts:
1. Shift A - 07:15am to 15:15pm
2. Shift B - 15:00pm to 23:30pm (finishing at 21:00pm on the Friday)
Overtime will be required from time to time to assist with production or preventative/reactive maintenance.
The job requires the Maintenance Technician to set up, install and maintain and support Electrical Food and Beverage production, packaging, and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimum performance and support the achievement of operation goals.
Job Description
The job requires the Electrical Maintenance Technician to provide day to day engineering services in a busy high-speed Food and Beverage manufacturing environment.
Electrical Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities:
* Provide day to day engineering services in a busy high-speed manufacturing environment.
* Responsible for the Zone/Line performance and overall maintenance and repair of the equipment and machinery.
* Multitask and solve problems that arise on site quickly and efficiently.
* Provide cost-effective design solutions on a weekly basis for the plant and equipment requirements.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.
* Deliver a high-quality maintenance service to production.
* Ensure maintenance works efficiently, effectively, and safely, in line with the maintenance strategy.
* Ensure tool uptime is above 95%.
* Plan work activities to improve Line Zone performance in conjunction with the Supervisor/Lead technician.
* Be highly competent at using PLC for fault finding.
The successful Maintenance Technician will possess:
* At least 3 years’ trade experience as an Electrical Maintenance professional.
* Experience in a Food and/or Beverage processing background or from FMCG, Bottling, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical or related industries, ideally within a Lean Six Sigma environment.
* Provide key engineering support to a busy production department that includes multiple high-speed packaging and bottling lines.
* Troubleshoot and repair damaged or poor performing equipment.
* Assist in compiling and presenting technical feedback on engineering performance relating to yield output, downtime, and make engineering improvements to increase productivity and efficiency.
* Knowledge of ATEX regulations is an advantage.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Multitask and have a proven track record.
* Team player and a good problem solver.
* PLC/Controller experience (programming an advantage).
* National Craft Senior Trades Electrical or Automation Qualification is essential.
* Flexibility to undertake other work assigned from time to time outside normal duties.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
* Deliver and improve performance targets in safety, quality, service, cost, and asset care.
* Carry out routine maintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule.
* Log larger problems revealed during routine maintenance for incorporation in the scheduled maintenance plan.
* Carry out electrical compliance, statutory maintenance, and shutdown maintenance.
* Execute project activities in support of engineering capital projects.
* Record maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) ensuring records are up to date, job durations are correct, and corrective maintenance is captured.
* Identify improvements to PM schedules and work with the Maintenance Team Leader and Planner to implement these.
* Support operational teams in maintenance and cleaning days.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Trade qualified Electrical or Automation qualification with time served.
* 3-5 years’ experience in medium-high speed packaging environment.
* Extensive knowledge of packaging equipment including PLCs/SCADA/INDUSTRIAL IT SYSTEMS (Siemens beneficial).
* Experience in lean manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving culture with asset care and equipment reliability.
* Asset management experience through a recognized CMMS system.
* Basic financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes.
* Excellent process improvement and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of lean manufacturing excellence techniques.
* Computer literate in MS Office and business systems (e.g. SAP, CMMS).
* Strong numerical and verbal reasoning.
