Title: Environmental Consultant
Location: Galway or Dublin
Role’s overview: One of Ireland’s leading multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy firms is looking for an ambitious, experienced Environmental Consultant with relevant experience in the Irish market to join the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) team, working across various projects and sectors. This is a full-time, permanent role, based in Dublin or Galway.
Responsibilities:
1. Draft, review, and co-ordinate EIA Reports for large projects and key clients.
2. Preparation and coordination of specialist environmental assessments.
3. Data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
4. Working and checking GIS.
5. Occasional survey or monitoring work onsite.
6. Technical report writing.
7. Engaging with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies and sub-contractors.
8. Managing and coordinating projects – acting as a point of contact with clients, internal team, and subcontractors.
About you:
1. Minimum of one to three years of experience within an environmental consultancy firm, with an excellent understanding of environmental science principles and the ability to understand and analyse client requirements.
2. Knowledge and experience of EIARs; ambitious, keen to learn new skills and progress your career.
3. Flexible to work on several varied projects with diverse challenges.
4. Good at managing your workload while keeping high attention to detail and quality of deliverables.
5. Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with strong teamwork skills.
6. Ability to work as part of a team and on your own to meet project deadlines and budgets.
Required experience and qualifications:
1. Minimum of three years of experience in the environmental services consultancy sector.
2. Degree qualified (or higher) in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
3. Familiarity with EIA legislation (in Ireland).
4. Competent in technical report writing.
5. Highly proficient in written English, ability to communicate with clarity and conciseness.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
7. Full clean driving licence.
8. Eligible to work in Ireland.
Desired experience:
1. MSc degree in a relevant field.
2. Q GIS experience.
3. Member of a relevant professional body.
4. Project Management experience or qualification.
