Quality lead - Food Production Our clients, an expanding Food Production company, in the Cavan / Westmeath locality, are looking to recruit a Quality Lead to join their team. As Quality Lead you will be responsible for developing, implementing and ensuring that the overall Food Safety and Quality function is in compliance to legal, certification & customer requirements. You will provide assurance that the products supplied by the company meet statutory and customer requirements for Food Safety and Quality. The Role: You will work with your own team and with management colleagues and operatives across departments to ensure that the food safety and quality of all products is being maintained, meets customer specification and that all products dispatched from the company are safe, compliant and traceable. To foster a culture of positivity, lead by example and ensure that you manage the quality assurance function within the organisation in a fair, respectful and constructive manner. To liaise with Departmental Managers and Operations Manager on a regular basis in relation to quality assurance matters that arise in order for them to be addressed quickly and without delay. To initiate change, be innovative and flexible in order to achieve continuous improvements in food safety and quality assurance. To encourage and support ideas and input from other work colleagues, engaging and involving them in the quality assurance process. To find solutions and problem solve issues that arise within the area of food safety and quality assurance demonstrating your ability to thinking laterally and objectively ensuring the validity and appropriateness of the HACCP system for all products. To liaise and work in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine. To successful maintain the site GFSI certification standards. The Person: You will hold a relevant 3rd level qualification in a Food Science or related subject You must have previous experience within food manufacturing in quality management. Experience in a processing environment of prepared foods. Previous experience of working with retailers and their audit requirements is essential. Experience of BRCGS certification audits is essential. You must have good IT skills and able to use Microsoft Office in a proficient manner Experience of managing projects, managing people and managing colleagues to achieve results is essential. Ability to work to strict deadlines within a fast paced environment is important You must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative. Good interpersonal skills, a high level of personal confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels is essential. Good judgement skills and the provision of solutions to challenges would be key to success in a busy factory producing a number of types of products and engaging in business development.
