Job Title: Product Development Technologist

A dynamic opportunity has emerged for a Product Development Technologist to join our team driving innovation and product development across various food product lines. This role will collaborate closely with multiple departments including Technical, Production, and Commercial teams to develop high-quality, value-added products that meet consumer expectations and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leverage expertise in research, innovation, and development projects from concept to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive successful product innovations.
* Evaluate new products against agreed-upon product standards and consumer preferences.
* Oversee day-to-day product development activities, including line extensions, packaging updates, and market launches.
* Maintain compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
* Monitor adherence to the stage-gate development process and apply Lean NPD methodologies to optimize product and process efficiencies.
* Enhance product and process integrity through continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop a deep understanding of business priorities and contribute to cost-effective product development strategies.
* Presents updates and progress on product development projects to senior stakeholders and key retail customers.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
* A bachelor's or master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in Product Development, Research & Development, or transferable roles such as Quality or Technical functions.
* Strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to multitask effectively and manage deadlines.
* Excellent research and analytical skills, including literature review, technical report writing, and experimental design.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
* The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
* Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
