About the Role
Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with a non-profit homeless services provider, are seeking enthusiastic individuals to provide support services within Limerick Homeless Action Team.
The purpose of this role is to assist predominately young people who are in homeless accommodation with identifying pathways into long-term suitable accommodation.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide assessment and advice to people who are homeless.
* Enable and assist clients to source suitable private rented accommodation.
* Work with clients placed in emergency facilities to secure long-term accommodation.
* Assist clients in settling into accommodation.
* Receive and act upon referrals submitted via the interdisciplinary referral protocol.
* Assist persons eligible for social housing with information and assistance in presenting the application.
* Investigate cases thoroughly on behalf of Limerick City and County Council Limerick.
* Increase access to health and social services for those experiencing homelessness.
* Create and maintain files and records of clients.
Candidate Requirements/Experience:
* Relevant Third Level qualification at degree level (e.g. social care, psychology, sociology).
* Ability to deal with challenging behaviour.
* Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
* Ability to display flexibility in the role.
* Full clean driver's license with access to a car.
* Experience working in a social care setting.
* Working with young people between 18–23 years.
* Dealing with child protection and welfare responsibilities and responding appropriately to any concerns.
* Carrying out assessments, including risk assessments.
* Developing support plans and carrying out reviews.
