Mowlam Healthcare are now recruiting for a Healthcare Manager – Quality & Compliance to join our Care Services Team!
The Healthcare Manager – Quality & Compliance is a key member of the Care Services Team and works in partnership with the Director of Care Services, Healthcare Managers and Directors of Nursing within Mowlam Healthcare. Reporting to the Director of Care Services, the principal objective is to promote and implement systemic quality improvements in healthcare and to enhance regulatory compliance and safety throughout the Mowlam Healthcare Group. The postholder will support the Director of Care Services in the development of clinical practice and innovation, to improve the quality of the residents’ experience and care outcomes.
The emphasis is on delivering continuous improvement in resident care and improving compliance by minimising risk and harm through defined professional and healthcare standards and robust systems of quality assurance.
Key Result Areas:
Systems and Standards:
* Work in partnership with Director of Care Services, Healthcare Managers, Compliance & Quality (C&Q) Coordinators and Directors of Nursing (DONs) on the implementation of the Mowlam Healthcare Quality and Safety Management System to deliver service improvements to ensure safe, effective, person centred care;
* Act as a resource to Healthcare Managers, C&Q Coordinators and DONs, particularly on regulatory compliance, quality improvement and risk reduction with regard to care delivery and healthcare quality at operational levels within Mowlam Healthcare;
* Collaborate with Director of Care Services, Healthcare Managers, C&Q Coordinators and Directors of Nursing in developing and delivering continuous quality improvement measures within an effective quality and safety model;
* Review of regulatory compliance across the organisation, improvement and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that regulatory and governance requirements are met;
* Review, improve and implement information systems to support the delivery, monitoring, evaluation and improvement of healthcare quality within Mowlam Healthcare;
Audit:
* Collaborate with HCMs and C&Q Coordinators to provide a comprehensive review of each nursing home, using Mowlam Audit Management Systems to benchmark performance against quality standards, including HIQA standards;
* Monitor all regulatory reports and oversee the implementation of effective Compliance Plans and Quality Improvements initiatives that can be measured and sustained.
* Collaborate with the DON of each nursing home to investigate all unresolved major risks from each Nursing Home Risk Register.
Clinical Practice:
* Provide an expert resource to the Director of Care Services, Healthcare Managers and DONs in a shared quality and compliance model, contributing to the education, training and development and service evaluation.
* Facilitate the education and development of home management teams in regulatory compliance and standards;
* Develop a culture that fosters openness and transparency and supports the effective identification and application of best practice.
Quality Improvement Programmes:
* As a result of audit or an adverse event develop a Nursing Home Quality Improvement Programme and help the DON and senior staff to implement the resulting action plans.
* Review progress in a timely manner.
* Provide oversight and direction on quality improvement programmes, patient care systems enhancements, quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.
* Contribute to the development of Quality Improvement and resident safety statutory and mandatory standards and advise the Care Services Team regarding necessary actions to implement compliance or change in practice.
