Role Purpose
The Care Staff plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Their responsibilities include training, providing support, and encouraging service users to participate fully in their work, activation, training, and education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Team Members in delivering appropriate services to those attending Day Services, ensuring the safety of both service users and staff members.
* Support service users in setting personal goals and developing plans to achieve them, using Person Centred Planning (PCP).
* Listen to service users' wishes and encourage them to advocate for themselves, promoting independence and decision-making skills.
* Act as a key worker for each service user, providing personal assistance and guidance.
* Contribute to the design and development of the Day Services Programme, working collaboratively with the team.
* Maintain accurate records of activities and services provided, adhering to Adult Services policies.
Requirements
* FETAC Level 5 (or equivalent) award in a relevant Healthcare Qualification.
* A keen interest in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
* A commitment to supporting people to achieve their goals and promoting independence.
* A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
