We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the project “CircBioCityWaste: Converting urban biowaste streams into value-added products”, which is funded by the Environment Protection Agency, Ireland and co-funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. We seek to appoint a postdoctoral researcher for a 12-month period, with the objective to support the Primary Investigator and the co-applicants in conducting qualitative and quantitative (Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)) research. The project is focusing on ‘Zero Waste Cities’ approach by developing innovative technologies and processes for converting urban waste streams into value-added products using a circular bio-based economy approach.
The focus of the postdoctoral researcher’s work will be predominantly (but not exclusively) on Work Package 6, which includes conducting an Environment, Social and Economic Life Cycle Analysis of the use of urban biowaste as a feedstock for value-added products. The candidate will be part of the project’s multi-university, multi-industry partner consortium and will have the opportunities to co-lead the development of deliverables and present project findings at international conferences. We are seeking a motivated candidate to strengthen our research group Eco-LOGIC (Economics for Healthy Society and Green Sustainable Communities) that researches within the Food-Environment-Health nexus from a social perspective to build a healthy and sustainable society.
Salary
Post Doctoral Researcher (Level 1): €44,847 p.a. (1 Point). Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
