Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Limerick. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing health and safety protocols on our industrial construction and engineering sites, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards and legislation. A key aspect of the role will involve working closely with mechanical contractors to guarantee a safe working environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of the site to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
* Collaborate with mechanical contractors and site management to promote a culture of safety.
* Provide ongoing safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
* Ensure compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations.
* Investigate and report on all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, implementing measures to prevent future occurrences.
* Prepare and present safety reports and audits to senior management.
* Ensure proper use of protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
* Stay updated on industry best practices and legal requirements related to health and safety in the construction and mechanical engineering sector.
Requirements:
* Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer, with proven expertise in working with mechanical contractors.
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and regulations in Ireland.
* NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar relevant certification.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Proactive and analytical mindset, with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and contractors on-site.
* Familiarity with health and safety software and reporting tools is an advantage.
