Ayrton Group are seeking a EHS Advisor to join our client on a large Civil Engineering project in Waterford City.
The EHS Advisor will assist in ensuring strict adherence to the client Safety Management System and advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with client policies and relevant statutory provisions.
This is a temporary requirement of 3 months with the possibility of extension on to other projects, commencing in early January.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure adherence to relevant Environmental, Health & Safety related statutory provisions & legislation.
* Ensure adherence to Company Management system.
* Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
* Assist or carry out accident/incident/near-miss investigation reports in a timely manner & ensure communication to project and group management.
* Preparing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management.
* Working closely with subcontractors to ensure all document is submitted and correct before work commences.
* Reviewing the SWP’s (Safe Work Plans).
* Carrying out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
* Ensure that best practices in EHS are promoted & maintained at all times.
Key Requirements:
* Level 7 qualification in Environmental Health & Safety preferred. Similar qualifications will be considered.
* Minimum of 2 year’s experience in on-site Safety roles.
* Previous experience of working on large Civil Engineering projects is preferred.
* Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
* Thorough knowledge of current Safety legislation & regulations for Ireland.
* Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills to lead a team.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
