Market Intelligence and Knowledge Management Senior Manager

The role of Market Intelligence and Knowledge Management Senior Manager will be filled on a permanent basis. The role is hybrid role based in Dublin HQ.
Overall Purpose:
Leads the company’s activities in competitive intelligence & market analysis; liaises between IP function and internal clinical and technical development teams to ensure IP is identified and appropriately captured. Works with IP, Legal and Corporate functions to ensure fit-for-purpose knowledge management systems are established and maintained.

Market Intelligence
Carries out deep scientific and technical analyses of IP portfolios of relevant market players:
This is a core responsibility of the role and is expected to constitute a minimum of 50% of its time;
Builds an appreciation of the relative strengths and weaknesses of products under development;
Summarises key findings for senior management;
Builds comprehensive market landscape knowledge to inform company strategy and development programmes.
Generates summary information dossiers on relevant market players;
Generates drug/indication landscape summaries;
Maintains overview of events/news stories related to relevant market players and provides regular updates of same to senior management and broader team;
Acts as subject matter expert in the use of the market intelligence platform.
Knowledge Management
Engages with internal development teams and programme management to identify potential IP arising from ongoing development activities;
Works with IP function to ensure identified programme outputs are appropriately protected, acting as scientific/technical liaison between IP function and development teams;
Assists development team members in the generation of appropriate invention records and the capture of all relevant supporting information;
In the case of outputs identified as potential trade secrets, assists development team members in providing required information to Legal and IP functions for trade secret register population;
Supports the roll-out of knowledge capture processes in partnership with the IP function, including the identification and capture of trade secrets metadata;
Person Spec
Experience:
A minimum of 8 years’ post-Ph.D. experience within life sciences R&D; ( 10 years post degree)
Background in one or more of neuroscience, synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, combination products preferred;
Must have significant experience with the review and interpretation of patents/patent applications;
Appreciates the means by which patents confer competitive advantage, in particular within the pharmaceuticals industry;
Comfortable with summarising and communicating the potential commercial implications of published patents/patent applications;
Clear track record of engaging with scientific/technical/clinical teams to capture knowledge generated from within complex development programmes;
Stakeholder management – demonstrated ability to engage with senior management as well as development teams, bridging the gap between strategy and execution.
Education:
B.Sc./M.Sc. in a scientific, medical or engineering discipline;
Ph.D. preferred;
MBA preferred
