The Rose Hotel is a 4 star hotel located in Tralee, Co Kerry.
We are now looking for Commis Chef applicants to join our kitchen team. This role will involve working in a busy kitchen which caters for food service in the restaurant/bar and room service.
Main duties will include:
1. To follow rigidly and observe all hygiene regulations and enforce HACCP.
2. To prepare and produce food for the area which you are assigned and to the agreed standards in conjunction with the other chefs.
3. To minimise wastage.
4. To ensure all necessary mis-en-place are ready prior to service.
5. To work with your colleagues in different sections of the kitchen.
6. To ensure that the guests' needs and requirements are met.
7. To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
8. To ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and other persons on the premises.
9. To adhere to fire drills.
10. To observe all safety procedures and rules.
11. To report and where possible take action on incidents of accidents and damage.
12. To attend all training courses as notified to you by management.
13. To carry out any other duties as may be notified to you by management.
Responsible to the Executive Chef and in his absence to the Sous Chefs.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a kitchen assistant/commis chef and/or suitable qualification.
* Knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
* Culinary school diploma or equivalent qualification or current student of Culinary Arts.
* Have a passion and genuine interest in food.
* Flexibility in working hours as role includes mornings/evenings, weekends, public holidays.
* Good command of the English language.
