The Kitchen Porter is responsible for keeping kitchen areas hygienic, clean, and safe, as well as assisting in cooking, serving, cleaning tables, washing dishes, etc., in the restaurant and kitchen.
Responsibilities:
* Wash pots and pans by hand and wash cutlery and dishes in dishwashers or by hand.
* Unload deliveries and store them according to kitchen supervisors.
* Ensure proper storage of foodstuffs.
* Wash and peel vegetables.
* Assist chefs and deli assistants in preparing and serving high standard food and desserts.
* Operate and clean equipment correctly and safely, adhering to cleaning and maintenance schedules.
* Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and tidy at all times.
* Make sure that all work surfaces, cookers, and machines are clean and free from germs.
* Sweep and mop floors.
* Follow hygiene regulations strictly.
* Clean the restaurant and dining room.
* Clean staff and customer toilets.
* Perform additional duties as required, complying with any reasonable request from the Head Chef, Supervisor, or Management.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Familiarity with and adherence to HACCP requirements; HACCP certificate preferred.
* Knowledge of basic food regulations based on Hygiene Management Systems (HMS).
* Knowledge of Health and Safety rules and procedures.
* Ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives.
Experience:
* Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant environment is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €12.80 per hour
Expected Hours: 30 – 40 per week
