Job Title: Maintenance Manager Grade VIII
Contract Length: Temporary
Salary: €79,847 per annum
Location: Mullingar, Westmeath
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Job Description:
* Maintain all elements of the built environment, including roads, pathways, grounds, buildings, plant and equipment, in accordance with statutory regulations, healthcare standards, manufacturers' recommendations, industry norms, and best practice.
* Manage the department to deliver a quality-based, cost-effective, efficient service.
* Review existing contracts and implement maintenance service contracts as required, monitoring their effectiveness and ensuring a universal approach is maintained site-wide.
* Develop a composite planned preventative maintenance program for the entire facility.
* Cooperate with the HSE IT development program and support the implementation of systems in the facility.
* Develop systems of working that will deliver efficiencies within the department.
* Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with statutory regulations, healthcare standards, manufacturers' recommendations, design team requirements, industry norms, HSE policies, and best practice.
Staff/HR Duties:
* Motivate department staff and develop good staff relations.
* Promote a quality working environment within the department.
* Ensure that staff are familiar with and observe HSE policies and procedures.
* Manage staff issues, including disciplinary issues, and liaise with Saolta management, estates management, HSE management, and advisors as required.
Health & Safety:
* Work to ensure that all requirements, statutory and recommended, needed to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, and others are met.
* Ensure that the management of the departments' staff and contractors are managed in accordance with construction regulations.
* Aware of all Health & Safety policy and procedures relevant to the role of the activities of the Buildings and Maintenance department.
Requirements:
* Possess a first-class technological certificate (Intermediate Stage) or a technological certificate (Advanced Stage) or a full course certificate in building issued by the Dept of Education.
* Hold a recognised professional technical diploma (Level 7) (e.g. Engineering/Surveying/Facilities Management/Architect etc.).
* Be a fellow or professional associate (Building Services Division) of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
* Have 7 years post-qualification experience in architecture/mechanical/electrical engineering/facilities management or building surveying works.
* Experience in managing significant operational budgets in a complex work environment.
* Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary trades and technical team of internal staff and external contractors.
