Mechanical Sustainability Engineer - Data Center Construction Location: Dublin, Ireland (with regular European travel) Our client are a leading Design-Build Contractor specializing in mission-critical data center construction across Europe.
They have an integrated approach to design and construction and also a control/ownership over the majority of their supply line.
The have recently opened an office in Dublin are seeking to add a mechanical engineer with sustainability experience to their group sustainability team which is based in Dublin.
This role will focus on ensuring sustainable mechanical systems are properly designed, installed, and commissioned across multiple data center projects while working closely with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
You will report to the Group Head of Sustainability.
Key Responsibilities Review and validate mechanical system designs from client teams and consultants and in-house design, ensuring they meet sustainability requirements, construction feasibility, and project specifications Coordinate with subcontractors during construction to ensure proper installation of sustainable mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling infrastructure, and energy recovery solutions Manage the quality control process for mechanical installations, ensuring compliance with specifications, building codes, and sustainability requirements Develop and implement construction methodologies that minimize environmental impact during the build phase Provide technical support during bid preparation, particularly regarding sustainable mechanical solutions and energy-efficient systems Oversee commissioning processes for mechanical systems, ensuring performance meets design intent and sustainability targets Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred Minimum of 7 years' experience in construction engineering Strong understanding of mechanical construction sequences and methodologies Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and coordinating with design teams Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable construction practices and green building certification processes Technical Skills Proficiency in reviewing mechanical designs and construction drawings Experience with construction planning and scheduling software Knowledge of construction quality control processes Understanding of commissioning procedures for mechanical systems Familiarity with building codes and sustainability standards Experience with value engineering and cost analysis HOW TO APPLY: Please forward your CV through this website or contact Kevin Clair on Linkedin.
