About the Company - A leading food production company is seeking an Environmental Officer to join its team in Co. Mayo. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for an experienced environmental professional looking to make an impact in sustainability and compliance within a dynamic production environment.
About the Role - Ensure full compliance with EPA licence requirements and manage communications with external regulatory bodies. Oversee the operation, performance, and cost management of the on-site Effluent Treatment Plant. Lead energy and resource efficiency initiatives to achieve water, energy, and carbon reduction targets. Capture and analyse data on effluent, energy, waste, and sustainability metrics to develop key performance indicators (KPIs). Maintain and improve ISO50001 (Energy Management) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management) standards on site. Conduct site energy and environmental audits to identify opportunities for improvement. Coordinate waste management practices in line with company-wide sustainability goals. Work closely with the group environmental team to implement sustainability projects and strategies. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service partners.

Qualifications - Minimum 2 years’ experience in an environmental role. Degree in Environmental Management or a related field.
Required Skills
1. Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, sustainability practices, and resource management.
2. IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.
3. A full, clean driving licence is required.
4. Experience in food manufacturing or a similar regulated industry is beneficial.
Pay range and compensation package - Salary is negotiable, depending on experience. Pension contribution scheme.
