With offices in Dublin, Cork, and Waterford, this firm has a significant and expanding workload in the traffic and transportation planning sector. The team is dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable transport solutions for a variety of clients, including local authorities, the National Transport Authority, and Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
Your New Role
As a Transportation Engineer, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects, including:
* Developing and preparing Transport Strategies/LTPs for large towns and local areas.
* Leading multidisciplinary design teams to develop transport networks for new towns, residential, and commercial developments in accordance with DMURS.
* Designing and appraising Active Travel schemes (walking and cycling) in urban and rural environments, including greenways.
* Designing significant bus priority schemes and various traffic management schemes, including environmental improvement and traffic calming schemes.
* Providing assistance and advice to other departments, including roads/highway design, street network design, car park design, and service access strategies.
* Supporting high-profile clients in the development of large residential, commercial, and educational projects, including major new towns and Strategic Development Zones.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic and transportation planning.
* A strong understanding of design principles, national/local authority standards, and technical guidance documents such as DMURS, DMRB, and TII SRW.
* Experience in multidisciplinary design coordination and the ability to present design solutions effectively within an overall project team.
* Ability to mentor junior staff in developing their technical expertise.
* Good planning and organizational skills.
* Familiarity with preparing proposals and tender submissions.
* A current driver's license is desirable.
