Description
Clerical Officer, Grade III
(Full time – 35 hour working week)
Horizons are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Clerical Officer, Grade III. The purpose of the post is to support the administration process in Horizons which aligns to the goals and objective of the service.
The Clerical Officer roles will be based in the Montenotte/City Area of Cork.
Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
1. Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition have:
(i) Obtained at least grade D (or pass) in Higher or Ordinary Level in five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education established Leaving Certificate Examination or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme or Leaving Certificate Applied.
Or
(ii) Passed an examination of at least equivalent standard
Or
(iii) Satisfactory relevant experience which encompasses demonstrable equivalent skills
and
(iv) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and administrative ability, for the proper discharge of the office.
2. Health: A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
3. Character: Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies and skills:
* Good level of IT Literacy in a range of Microsoft and other packages
* Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to interact with people in a positive, professional and courteous manner
* Demonstrated ability to respond to competing demands and shifting priorities.
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, completing tasks in a timely fashion to tight deadlines
* Demonstrated ability to organise own time effectively, prioritising own workload and set realistic timescales
* Ability to handle day to day challenges confidently and skilfully
* Willingness and ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change
* Understands and adheres to the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism
* Demonstrates a commitment to providing a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
* Committed to supporting organisational development and change
* Finance/Accounting experience would be beneficial
