What can you expect We are seeking a talented individual to join our newly created Catholic Investment Solutions Team at Mercer Global Investments Europe and this role will be based in Dublin.
Mercer Investments, through a strategic partnership with CBIS, has established an investment offering for Catholic faith-based Investors.
This offering is uniquely positioned to support Catholic faith-based investors in achieving their investment goals.
CBIS Catholic Responsible Investments engagement approach and implementation of a proven investment philosophy, bolstered by recent addition of significant resources from Mercer, offers a compelling solution for Catholic investors.
This commitment by both firms is reflective of an exciting growth opportunity to bring a best-in-class investment offering to faith-based organisations across Europe and Asia.
The Portfolio Manager will work for the CBIS team alongside Mercers Investment, Client and Sales groups to cover solutions in traditional and alternative asset classes across equities, fixed income, multi-asset and private markets.
This role involves five key responsibilities: 1) Portfolio Management 2) Investor Engagement 3) Value Proposition and Solution Design 4) Investment Assessments and 5) Commercial Acceleration as outlined further below.
The Portfolio Manager will play a key role in bridging Mercer and CBIS intellectual capital to ensure successful implementation of best-in-class Catholic faith-based investments within our European domiciled investment vehicles.
The role will also support the design and building of custom solutions for large asset owners.
Whilst the role is primarily investments focused it is expected that the candidate will spend a significant amount of time representing CBIS with our ex-US client base, both existing investors and prospects.
We will count on you to: Reporting to CBIS Global CIO, the Portfolio Manager will also be required to build strong working relationships with Mercers Investment and Commercial teams to support the wider partnership.
Key responsibilities:
Portfolio Management input into the asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection for client solutions.
Regularly attend client meetings, sales pitches, external conferences & host internal webinars representing CBIS Investments business across a range of asset classes, segments and regions.
Investor Engagement create high quality investment content & messaging for internal & external stakeholders; write articles for marketing purposes and participate in webinars/podcasts; ensure communications are distributed & surfaced in an effective manner.
Value Proposition & Solution Design contribute towards the development of CBIS suite of investment solutions, create a compelling value proposition relative to competitors to help resonate with client needs.
Investment Assessments Participate and actively contribute in CBIS/ Mercer Investment Committee meetings.
Bring opinions on topics across the investment continuum including investment philosophy, asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection.
Ensure CBIS Catholic-values investment lens is applied to all portfolios.
Commercial Acceleration liaise with Mercer and CBIS sales and business leaders across a range of regions to help drive the growth of CBIS Investments business.
What you need to have:
Preferred circa 10 or more years experience within an investment environment (e.g.
asset/investment management, investment consulting, equity/fixed income research, etc.)
Experience building strong internal and external relationships Ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills complemented by exceptional communication & presentation skills Proven leadership with the ability to influence and challenge Hardworking team player with a keen attention to detail, a positive attitude, a proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively within in a small, dynamic team while leading and managing own tasks & projects Keen interest in and strong understanding of economics, financial markets and investment management What makes you stand out:
CFA or similar qualification Experience with investment risk systems (e.g.
