Role Overview
Amazon Security is looking for a driven professional to join its systems engineering team to manage the operation of our physical access control system (PACS), as well as help us automate a sustainable and robust architecture for future growth.
You will be responsible for the overall health of our service and provide excellent customer service to our partners. You will create availability and health metrics, monitor performance, perform regular system maintenance, and architect innovative solutions for running a PACS in a large distributed environment.

* You'll work closely with internal customers to understand their operational challenges and provide helpful solutions.
You should enjoy digging deep to find answers, sometimes this will require reverse engineering existing solutions, a situation you thrive in.
About the Team
AWS-SOC Systems Engineering (SE) team within AWS Security delivers physical security systems to enable our internal customers to execute their jobs safely, securely, and maintain trust.
We have a high degree of technical acumen but still learn every day in pursuit of providing the highest value to our customers.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
* Extensive experience with Windows Server.
* Experience years of experience with virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware, etc).
* Extensive experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
* Extensive scripting experience (Power-Shell most preferred, Python useful, Bash, Perl, Ruby, etc also acceptable).
* Succesful applicants must have the legal right to work in Ireland.
Preferred Qualifications
* Extensive experience with Networking, or exposure to basic concepts and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
* Extensive experience with AWS Services, Physical Access Control system (Lenel, RedCloud, etc.).
* Working knowledge with Linux systems administration and/or related development experience using, or some exposure to Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, VPC, etc.).
* Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
* Proven experience creating documentation for production systems and experience in 24/7 online environment.
