The Role:
As the Solution Architect at Evernorth Ireland, you will have a core role in transforming how we do business.
You will provide technical leadership to our product strategy and work collaboratively with product and business partners to identify those outcomes and solutions that will transform our business.
Your responsibilities will include providing technical support to the business, engaging with them to understand requirements, and converting these into detailed architecture outputs and designs which in turn will become the blueprint for the solution being created.
This role also includes technical governance, the definition of standards, best practices and principles to be applied and ensuring solutions are designed in alignment with these.
You will also support the definition of the target architecture vision and drive strategic direction throughout the organisation.
We need someone with excellent technical, communication and soft skills, who can engage with all stakeholders from business to technical and work with them to implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and document the technical architecture artefacts and solutions designs to meet the business requirements.
Provide high level instruction and oversee the implementation of solution designs.
Actively participate in the full product lifecycle from early shaping of high-level estimates and delivery plans through to active governance of the solution as it is developed and built in later phases.
Work collaboratively with other architects and development teams to bring designs to fruition.
Provide guidance on the future development of the platform to meet business requirements.
Mentor design & development teams to embed architectural framework and best practices.
Support technical discovery through proof of concepts and own development canvas.
Assist sponsors in the creation of rounded and compelling business cases for change.
Maintain an active awareness of emerging trends and developments in technology that could impact or benefit our business and our customers.
We are looking for someone with:
A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent discipline.
Experience in a technical lead role in application development or architecture.
The ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders including team leads, architects, product owners, product managers and senior management.
The ability to present technical concepts and specific solutions in a clear, concise and easily understood manner appropriate to the audience.
The ability to work across teams and with other architects to break down silos and ensure cross team communication and collaboration.
Experience building and deploying complex applications, particularly event-driven cloud-native applications, as well as integrating enterprise solutions.
An understanding of distributed application design, patterns, and experience producing design diagrams and documenting standards.
Working experience with modern development and delivery methodologies such as Agile and CI/CD and ability to apply these processes as appropriate.
Cloud technology, ideally AWS including Paa S services such as S3, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, Docker, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, Sage Maker etc.
Experience in cloud solutions using AWS services like EC2, Lambda, EMR, VPC, EBS, SNS, RDS, Dynamo DB, ELB, Cloud Watch, Cloud trail, Auto.
Scaling, S3, and Route53
Experience in any modern data stack technologies a significant plus: Databricks, Airflow, Snowflake, Stream Sets etc.
