Grade II Inspector - Renewable Energy
Based in Ireland, this role is a permanent full-time position with a salary of €73,961 - €90,198.
Key Accountabilities:
* Manage a team of direct reports, fostering a positive working environment and supporting their professional and personal growth.
* Conduct inspections, market surveillance, and investigations within the relevant area, documenting findings on designated platforms according to set procedures.
* Publish and distribute regular reports to senior managers, detailing team performance and highlighting corrective actions taken to address concerns.
* Initiate and develop key policy initiatives for assigned sectors or legislative areas, contributing to national or EU policy development.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share data, expertise, and insights, ensuring strong alignment across the organization as needed.
* Draft policy documents and guidance materials, soliciting feedback from peers while prioritizing user needs.
* Review and prepare technical assessments and reports in line with applicable laws and regulations.
* Engage with national stakeholder groups within relevant sectors or policy areas.
* Interact with national market surveillance stakeholders and customs authorities.
* Represent the organization at relevant EU forums.
* Conduct research on existing policies and best practices to understand how leading approaches can be applied in an Irish context.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Hold a primary degree (NFQ level 8 or equivalent) in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
* Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a regulatory, process industry, engineering, or renewable energy setting.
* Demonstrate possession of required competencies for the role as outlined in Appendix 1.
Desirable:
* A recognized qualification at Diploma level or higher in Occupational Safety and Health.
* A qualification in general management.
* Experience in managing staff.
* Experience in inspection, investigation, policy, enforcement, or prosecution functions.
* Knowledge and understanding of process safety instrumentation and equipment operation.
* Experience in building collaborative relationships with stakeholders to deliver policy priorities.
