Position Title: EHS Officer
Location : Client Site
Reporting to: HSEQ Manager
Overall Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the EHS Specialist will support the company EHS managementsystem. You will be responsible for providing technical support on all environmental, health and safetysystems to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support the HQEQ Manager
2. Conduct work activities in line with Apleona EHS management system
3. Provide support to ensure activities are being undertaken in line with company EHS management system
4. Maintain and enhance customer confidence through the application of company EHS management systems, processes, and procedures
5. Conduct risk assessments of work activities and provide support to managers to carry out risk assessments
6. Create method statements for work activities and review contractor method statements for accuracy
7. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company EHS management system and legislation
8. Actively promote our dynamic risk assessment program; 5 Seconds for Myself
9. Monitor our near miss, accident, and incident system. Carry out accident investigations. Implement remedial actions. Review trends in near miss reporting.
10. Maintain, develop, and carry out training programs to prevent accidents occurring
11. Carry out training on EHS systems, processes, and procedures
12. Provide EHS support for projects
13. Provide guidance and support on waste management activities
14. Promote sustainability
Person Specification
15. Must possess a positive approach to EHS, shaping the way things are done, how managers interpret EHS policies and promote a positive EHS culture among personnel
16. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
17. Ability to work on own initiative
18. Must possess a hands-on approach to EHS
Qualifications and Experience
19. NFQ Level 8 qualification in EHS
20. 3+ years’ experience, ideally within a life science facility
21. IOSH membership desirable
22. Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor qualification desirable
23. Knowledge of Irish EHS regulations, guidelines, and best practices
