Business Development Manager - Kilkenny
Our client, a leading manufacturer and installer for the construction industry, is seeking to hire a Business Development Manager to join their team in Kilkenny. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving strategic growth and expanding the company’s market presence in the construction industry. This pivotal role requires a forward-thinking professional who excels at identifying new opportunities, forging strong partnerships, and developing innovative strategies to unlock new revenue streams. The successful candidate will be a compelling communicator, skilled at building lasting client relationships, and adept at collaborating across teams to ensure sustainable business growth. This role is part of the senior leadership team and will head up the Sales department.
Duties:
* Work with General Manager to develop and implement growth strategy - Formulate and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with overall company objectives and drives market expansion for modular building solutions.
* Market research & analysis - Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, assess competitor activities, and uncover new business opportunities. Use insights to guide strategic decisions and refine product or service offerings.
* Develop pricing strategy - Create pricing models, discounts, promotional strategies, etc.
* Investigate new sales processes & innovations and lead implementation, e.g., CRM, lead generation, workflow automation, etc.
* Identify and develop strategic alliances - Cultivate partnerships with industry and state stakeholders—such as construction firms, developers, suppliers, specifiers, relevant associations, and state agencies—to expand service offerings and reach new markets.
* Client & stakeholder engagement - Serve as a primary point of contact for major clients and partners, ensuring prompt resolution of inquiries or issues and fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.
* Opportunity identification - Leverage existing relationships and market insights to identify cross-selling or up-selling possibilities that increase revenue from both new and existing clientele.
* Develop key performance indicators - Establish quantifiable KPIs and metrics tailored to sales and business development goals, e.g., new partnerships secured, revenue growth from new sectors, and quotation pipeline.
* Monitor progress against targets, performing regular analyses to identify challenges and opportunities. Present actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
* Forecasting and reporting - Prepare and present monthly and quarterly reports that detail business development initiatives, forecasted deals, and market condition updates.
* Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying areas of weakness and opportunity.
* Work alongside General Manager and marketing partners to develop and execute initiatives that elevate the brand’s presence in target markets.
* Work closely with the project team, particularly in the transition from sales to project start and the project close/handover to the client.
Requirements:
* Proven track record of success in growing sales and market share within the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, products, and markets.
* Excellent communicator with strong negotiation skills.
* Public writing & tendering experience is an advantage.
* CRM experience.
* Experience working to KPIs.
