Social Care Leader (with PIC Responsibilities)
Permanent, Fulltime (39 hours per week) contract
Location: Co. Kildare
SOCIAL CARE MANAGER 1 Salary Scale €55,793 to €65,155 annually, depending on experience
Under the management and guidance of the Operations Manager, the Social Care Leader (SCL) role will provide leadership and management in the provision of services and supports. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of staff teams ensuring individuals are respected, treated with dignity, and supported to make personal choices and decisions on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
1. Play an active role in the co-ordination and completion of Assessment of Need for Service Users
2. Ensure that each Service user has an Individual Support Plan developed, focusing on supporting independence, ensuring that goals and objectives are met
3. Promote teamwork and effective communication within the team
4. Be familiar with policies and procedures in relation to the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children's First / Child Protection
5. Maintain all necessary records in accordance with Kare's managing records policy
6. Ensure that all HIQA notifications are recorded and submitted in a timely manner to HIQA
7. Work in conjunction with other Departments/Managers to develop and enhance the service
8. Work in partnership with the Operations Manager to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the agreed budget
9. Implement and participate in Kare's Performance Management System
10. Participation in the provision of Kare's Out of Hours On-Call service on a rostered basis
Requirements
1. Have a comparable qualification recognised by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU
2. A minimum of 3 years experience as relevant to the role
3. Essential: Must provide proof of current CORU-Social Care Worker registration OR proof of eligibility to register
4. Essential: A qualification in a relevant management course
5. Essential: Must have a full, valid driver's licence and access to your own vehicle as travel will be required between Kare locations.
6. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and standards, and experience of working in a Designated Centre
7. A thorough knowledge of individualised planning and a clear vision of how Kare should further develop to benefit the people who use our services
8. The ability to support staff to carry out their work in a manner that is empowering to individuals
9. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people e.g., families, Kare teams and community personnel
10. Excellent written & verbal communication skills and excellent administrative skills including a good working knowledge of computer programmes, e.g., Microsoft Office, TMS, online reporting database
11. Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
