Job Description:
Cpl Healthcare is seeking applications for the role of Assistant Director of Nursing for a North Cork nursing home.
This is a large nursing home, currently with residents and requires an experienced registered nurse to fill this new role. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive environment whilst working with an experienced team of Healthcare Professionals in a diverse, multi-cultural environment. Among other duties, the ADON will play a central role in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care, and will lead the Nursing team in delivering Person-Centred care. You will also be responsible for planning and allocation of nursing teams with appropriate staff members, skill mix, and levels of experience to meet the clinical demands and ensure continuity of care.
This is a 4-day week role working 8am to 6pm daily, offering an attractive remuneration package reflective of the successful candidate’s previous experience.
The successful candidate must hold the following qualifications and experience:
* A registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
* A minimum of three years post-registration nursing experience in the past 6 years in Care of the Elderly.
* Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area.
* A management qualification or Higher Diploma in Gerontology is desirable but not essential.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Ability to manage workload effectively while responding flexibly to new demands at short notice.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and learning throughout the nursing home.
* Flexibility to work hours as required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence others, build relationships, and achieve outcomes.
* Promote quality assurance within the clinical area, establishing benchmarks and KPIs in consultation with the Director of Nursing.
* Proven track record in team management and performance management.
