Job Title: Critical Facilities Maintenance Technician We are looking for applicants for the following locations: Dublin 22 Dublin 15 Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 40 hours per week; 12-hour shifts (must be available Monday through Sunday) Salary: Base €54,000+ 33% shift allowance (€71,820 total) - Dublin 22 & Dublin 15 Benefits: Pension Life Cover: 2x base annual salary Sick Pay: 10 days after 6 months; 20 days after 2 years Medical Insurance: Single coverage Role Overview As a Critical Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the smooth and secure operation of essential systems within our high-tech data centres. Your primary responsibilities will involve maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in a high-stakes environment where uptime and reliability are paramount. This role is ideally suited to hands-on electrical or mechanical engineers with experience in critical facility maintenance and infrastructure management. Key Responsibilities System Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on all mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC units, generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and power distribution units (PDUs). Identify and promptly address potential issues to prevent disruptions. Critical Environmental Management: Maintain optimal environmental conditions within the data centre by responding to and addressing Building Management System (BMS) alarms. Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards. Emergency Response: React swiftly to equipment failures, executing corrective repairs in alignment with established protocols to minimise downtime. Prioritise tasks based on their impact on operations. Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with third-party vendors, overseeing maintenance work, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and verifying that all work aligns with regulatory requirements and Master Service Agreement (MSA) specifications. Technical Documentation: Record maintenance activities and incidents meticulously, producing reports as required and maintaining logs on system operations and performance metrics for UPS, PDUs, and other utilities. Operational Troubleshooting: Apply diagnostic skills to identify and resolve straightforward technical faults independently, notifying management promptly when performance standards are not met. Skills and Qualifications Technical Background: Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a technical field, such as electrical or mechanical engineering, with at least 1-2 years of experience in data centres or other critical environments. Electrical and Mechanical Proficiency: Experience in managing and troubleshooting high-voltage electrical systems and HVAC systems, including CRAC and CRAH units, for effective climate control within data centres. BMS & Preventative Maintenance Skills: Familiarity with BMS operations and experience in executing both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks to industry standards. Documentation and Reporting Abilities: Strong organisational skills with proficiency in documentation, reporting, and using Microsoft Office for recordkeeping and communications. Problem-Solving Mindset: Attention to detail and an analytical approach to quickly identify, prioritise, and resolve issues in a critical facility environment. Physical Requirements: Capability to perform manual tasks and sustain focus during extended 12-hour shifts, meeting the physical demands associated with the role.
