About the Job
The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
The NTMA manages several businesses, including borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, and the National Development Finance Agency.
The NTMA also assigns staff to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland, and Home Building Finance Ireland.
About the ISIF
The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), managed and controlled by the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), is a sovereign development fund with a unique mandate to invest on a commercial basis to support economic activity and employment in Ireland.
ISIF prioritises the use of its capital and resources to address strategic challenges and focus its efforts on making transformational investments across its impact themes of Climate, Housing and Enabling Investments, Indigenous Businesses, and Food and Agriculture and Marine.
Job Summary/ Principal Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be a member of the Food, Agriculture and Marine Investment team and work across a variety of initiatives, including:
* Contribute to the development of the ISIF Food, Agriculture and Marine Investment strategy.
* Support origination and execution of transactions aligned with this strategy, across multiple areas of the economy.
* Provide detailed financial expertise and support, including financial modelling, in the investment appraisal and underwriting of transactions.
* Lead significant complex transactions/portfolio activities.
* Negotiate with third parties.
* Produce high-quality papers and presentations.
* Coordinate projects/transactions, review, and ensure quality, drive delivery.
* Set scope of analysis required, organise advisors as needed.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a relevant third-level qualification and demonstrate a keen and well-informed interest in investment and the Food, Agriculture and Marine sector and the associated investment opportunities.
The candidate should possess a strong appetite to continuously learn more about latest developments and research on the Food, Agriculture and Marine sector.
Adept at creating and manipulating financial models for financial analysis and investment appraisal is essential.
Desired experience includes working in Corporate Finance, Private equity, commercial/corporate banking, or similar environments, relationship management with investees and/or other third parties, previous experience working with an Investment Committee and Board, a strong network and reputation across the market, a strong track record in investment (equity or debt), technical strength across a range of sub-sectors and/or products, project management/delivery capabilities and relationship management skills.
