Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to oversee commercial projects in the Leinster region. The successful candidate will act as the chief health and safety officer, providing oversight for 3-4 new build and conservation commercial projects with budgets ranging from €4m – €7m.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting regular site audits and inspections.
* Maintaining records of statutory inspections and plant equipment.
* Delivering statutory notifications to the Health & Safety Authority.
* Developing and implementing Health & Safety induction programmes for new on-site employees and contractors.
* Organizing and chairing site safety meetings.
* Evaluating sub-contractors' safety statements and compliance.
* Assisting site management in drafting and communicating method statements.
* Maintaining and communicating site emergency plans.
* Investigating accidents and notifying authorities.
* Ensuring First Aid is available and maintained.
* Pursuing improvements in Health & Safety standards and management systems.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is desirable.
* Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction processes and hazards.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards applicable to the construction industry.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety requirements and procedures to site personnel.
